DOWNTOWN CHAPEL CONNECTS:
"Finding God in the Poor"
A full-day immersion experience for students
Portland Skyline

CONNECTIONS
Groups will be immersed in the Old Town
and Downtown Chapel communities,
engaging in relationships with many people
experiencing a variety of circumstances.

Downtown Chapel Connects is ultimately
about making connections - between faith and
service, between people and people, and
between God and the poor.

MAKING IT A REALITY
Groups can range in size from 5-15 students.
In the past, this experience has been designed
for high school and college groups, but this year
we have expanded the program to include junior
high students as well.

Immersions are typically scheduled for
Saturdays, October through June, although
weekdays may also be available.
Immersions run from 8:00am until 3:00pm.

EXPLORATION AND GROWTH
Students will be challenged to respond to poverty
and diversity
with love, rather than fear. They will
be asked to see the living person of Christ in each person who walks through our doors.

UNIQUE EXPERIENCE

Each group can design the afternoon module to fit their needs. The aim is to meet groups where they are and help further their development surrounding topics of faith and service.

Afternoon Modules: Some of the possible focuses include Catholic Social Teaching, Social Justice-based scripture, and Confirmation and the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. Leaders will be contacted to furtherdiscuss the details of the day.
